Agencies can change an address, phone number, fee, hour, or request procedure with little notice. Their databases also update on different schedules. Although pages are reviewed, no detail is guaranteed to be complete or current. Confirm requirements with the office before visiting or paying.
An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
An arrest does not prove guilt. Prosecutors or courts may decline, amend, dismiss, or resolve a charge in the accused person's favor. A booking entry does not give the final court result. Later sealing, expungement, or correction may also make an older copy misleading. Verify the disposition with the proper Nelson court clerk, the reporting agency, or Virginia State Police before relying on a record.
Treat every record you find as a starting point, not a verdict. Only the originating agency can confirm what a record currently says and whether it is still releasable.
Verify With the Official Source
No site page is an official record. Confirm a court date or warrant with the issuing court, current custody with Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail or the responsible corrections office, a statewide history with Virginia State Police, and a registry listing with the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Only the custodian can issue an official or certified copy.
